National Service Scheme 2020: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Widely known as NSS is an Indian government public service program guided by the Indian Ministry of Youth Affairs and also sports of the Government of India.
The reason for introducing the National Service Scheme (NSS):
NSS program is particularly introduced for the youth in order to get them socially aware, also build discipline in them. Mainly to make ready them to contribute their share for the welfare of mankind.

Ideogram of NSS:
The Ideogram for the NSS based on the giant Rath Wheel of the world-famous Konark Sun Temple. The main mesmerizing art which I just want to share with you is that the wheel painted the cycle of creation, preservation, and release. The 24 hours of a day represented by the eight bars in the wheel. The blood red color indicates that the youth is full of blood that is lively, active, energetic and full of high spirit.
Main Target of National Service scheme:
NSS has its own motto words “NOT ME BUT YOU”, captures the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service. Also, the scheme focussing on being every youth is self-disciplined, self-centered. Develop a capacity to meet emergencies and natural disasters.
Various camping programs are taken by NSS:
- National Integration camp
- Blood donation
- Tree planting campaign and also awareness
- Newly introduced disaster planning and helping motive
- Adventurous program
Advantages of being an NSS member:
Being an NSS member there are lots of advantages in which some important you get a badge of NSS. Also, another one is that the society in which you live you get a good position and also people see a great leader in you.
Enrolment in NSS:
This scheme is applicable to any student who is in 11th and further next all students. The students from foreign countries share the experiences of national reconstruction and community work for India by joining NSS.
To organize Regular Activities (RA) and special Camping Programmes (SCPs), this scheme is now a central sector scheme. An amount of Rs.250/-per volunteer per annum is released towards Regular Activities (RAs) and Rs.450/- per volunteer per Special Camping Programme (SCP) which is of 7-days duration to be organized in the adopted villages/urban slums.

National Service Scheme provides suitable incentives/ awards under the scheme.
NSS Republic Day Parade Camp:
The NSS Republic Day Parade Camp is held on 1st and 31st January of every year. This parade includes 200 volunteers who are very well disciplined as well as other social activities.
From the 200 volunteers, the best are selected for the next parade which is held on the 26th of January.
