This is the best bran muffin recipe!! It is an old fashioned raisin bran muffin. Not at all like the cakey variety so common today. If you don't have buttermilk, just use 1 cup of milk & add 1 Tbsp. of white vinegar to it. Just as good!!

i really liked these even if i didn't have the right bran...i will make them again for sure...otherwise i did as the recipe said ... they are on the sweet side so next time i might cut back on the sugar and vanilla just for a change...but they are so good as they are...i guess that is why it is rated with five stars...thanks for the recipe...adding a p.s. they are great and freeze well...have been making a batch every month since i found the recipe...thanks again

This is by far, the best bran muffin recipe ever. I usually double the recipe and either share with friends or freeze them to enjoy each morning. My favourite additions are walnuts and cranberries. So good! The only downside is that they are not gluten free for those that have to watch.
