Ensure the resident has original verification documents. Copies approved by a municipal notary / gazetted officer will be recognized where original documents are inaccessible.

The documents produced by the aadhaar registration / actualization resident must only be in the list of documents approved.

This format is intended for officials / institutions to issue certificates for ID and Address Proof (only those recognized in the valid document list of the UIDAI) as referred to in Appendix A / B.

If you suspect forged / altered documents, verifier can refuse verification. When the verifier refuses to verify the documents produced, reasons should be briefly included in the verifier’s registration form.

If the Verifier refuses the check for reasons or turns the resident back at a Block level for grievance relief without registering any reasons, the resident may approach the designated authority established by the Registrar.

Check the name, birth date, address and relationship details respectively with the PoI, DoB, PoA, PoR.

PoI requires a document with the name and photograph of the resident. Check that the document supports both.

If the presented PoI document does not contain the resident’s photograph, it will not be accepted as a valid PoI. Records with older images are appropriate to be inclusive and clear of abuse.

Through asking the resident for his signature, check the name of the paper. This guarantees that the citizen buys his own papers.

The name of the person should be given in its fullness. Write the name carefully and accurately is very necessary. The defendant may state, for example, that his name is V. Vijayan, while R. Venkatraman Vijayan or also his full name, but he is not to mention such a greeting or titles as Mr. Ramesh Kumar Srivastava may possibly be K’s full name. Srivastava. Srivastava. A woman inscriber could also give her name K. Similarly. S. K. Durga, her full name may be Kalluri Surya Kanaka Durga. Have a look at the extension of your original documents and the documentation.

In case of a discrepancy in the name proclaimed and the one in the document (PoI) is restricted to first, middle and last name spelling and/or sequence, the resident’s name can be registered.

Where two documentary proofs produced by the enroller vary in the same name (i.e. with initials and full name), the full name of the enroller should be recorded.

Kids and babies may not have been called yet, occasionally. Try to ascertain the child’s expected name by demonstrating to the enroller the significance of recording the individual’s name for UID allotment. The name should be recorded with the assistance of the Introducer in the event of unavailability of supporting documents for PoI.

Apart from filing the ITR, there are many benefits of linking PAN and Aadhaar. It helps the government to curb black money. We all know the benefits of PAN and Aadhaar.

Removes the chances of having multiple PAN cards

Having the multiple PAN number was a major source of tax evasion. The multiple cards have been proven a major hurdle in improving tax compliance. Apart from the tax evasion, multiple cards were also used to defraud banks.

Detects Tax Evasion

Linking of Aadhaar with PAN helps the Income Tax Department to establish an efficient surveillance system to detect the tax evasion. The Aadhaar number helps to ensure that the details of the individual are filed properly.

Reduces cash transaction

Linking of Aadhaar with PAN is a positive step towards reducing the cash transactions. That helps to achieve higher economic growth and gives stability to the country.

Stops cancellation of PAN

Once you link your Aadhaar with PAN it avoids the cancellation of your PAN. Linking of Aadhaar PAN is a summarized detail of a tax attached to an individual’s unique identification number for the future purpose.

Why there is a need to link PAN and Aadhaar?

To tighten the grip on the tax evaders the government has introduced a new section 139AA in the Income Tax Act, 1961. By getting multiple PAN numbers people are concealing their income.

The CAG report of 2011 highlighted this issue clearly so the government considered issuing biometric PAN cards to taxpayers across the country to check the duplicate and fake PAN numbers.

The government has tried to find the loophole and find it is not possible to get multiple Aadhaar Number. And the linking of PAN and Aadhaar ensures that one person can hold only one PAN.

Apart from the tax evasion people also get loans from different banks/financial institutions using different PAN. The Aadhaar verified PANs reduce the chances of this malpractice.

Important points to keep in mind while linking Aadhaar and PAN

  1. For the successful linking, you must ensure that your details on both of the documents are an identical name, gender and date of birth.
  2. Without linking Aadhaar with PAN number you can file your ITR but the Income Tax Department will process your returns after the linking process.
  3. The last date of linking Aadhaar and PAN is extended up to 31st March 2019.
  4. If you are already a user on the e-filing website, there are the chances your PAN and Aadhaar are already linked.
  5. You can check whether you Aadhaar is linked with PAN by visiting Income Tax e-filing website incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
  6. In case there is a minor mismatch in the PAN and Aadhaar data you can get it corrected before trying to link these numbers.
  7. Biometric authentication is the must in case there is a major mismatch in data of Aadhaar and PAN.

rn has extended the signing and verifying facility of ITR from the Assessment year 2015-16. To get the benefit of this facility you need to link your PAN with Aadhaar. Link Aadhaar Card To Income Tax Return
